YoungLife: Doing Simple but Great Things

ANN MARIZ FORMALEJO. Mariz, as her friends know her, is a talented girl, a sweet and caring friend and a loving daughter. Currently, she is the President of the Immaculate Conception Youth Choir and a member of the Canossian Youth Movement-Rodriguez Chapter. A fourth year high school student who dreams to become a successful engineer some day.

YP: Why did you join the chorale group?

Actually, I joined the Immaculate Conception Youth Choir so that I could fully express myself through singing and to gain more friends -- friends whom I can talk and sing with. I would love to meet people whom I can trust and with whom I could share my thoughts and ideas.

YP: If you were given the chance to do something extraordinary, what would it be?

Maybe it would be to have the power to grant everyone's wishes and dreams, especially the poor and needy.

YP: What is your greatest frustration in life?

Maybe when my Lola died. Also, I feel frustrated every time I make a promise and I end up not fulfilling it.

YP: You are already sixteen years old, how do you see yourself ten years from now?

Ten years from now, I see myself as a successful engineer. I will be a woman who has conquered her dreams, achieved her goals and reached her star. I hope to be a person who has learned from her mistakes and lives by her principles. All these are possible by the grace of God.

YP: How do you see the youth of today?

The young people of today are unpredictable. Sometimes, they are  misunderstood. They are often confused, which leads them to do bad things. I'm sad every time I think about it. On the other hand, the youth of today are so talented. There are many things that they can do, if only they use it in a way that can help.

YP: In your own simple way, how are you going to change the world?

Maybe, i'll start with myself first.  I'll do simple but great things. After that, i'll move on to my family next, then my community. I hope that could help.

Keep it up kapatid. Life is short. We must enjoy it, and one way to enjoy it is to serve Him.
