More than 1,000 youth gathered at Don Bosco Makati for Pilgrimage of Trust
Taize, Pilgrimage of Trust on Earth was held at the Don Bosco Technical Institute of Makati City last February 3-7, 2010. There were more than one thousand youth who attended the taize making them be more prayerful and faithful just as how our God is faithful to us.
During the Taize, different workshops, fun-filled yet Christ-centred activities, small group meetings and most especially the common prayer time were conducted inside the school.
Most of the participants came from different countries like Belgium, Australia, China, Korea, Sri Lanka, Portugal and more practicing different traditions, have different religion and culture but all of them gathered and enjoyed every distinct moment that they had and living a life as faithful people and as devoted servants of God.
They also shared different thoughts, experiences and joyfulness, be one in prayer and gather themselves together to share the goodness of Christ.
We were able to interview different nationalities; one of them came all the way from Belgium named Alicia and Mathilde, and when asked about their experiences and lessons learned during the Taize they said that the activities were nourishing and very God-centred. They also said that it was really one worthy experience that they will never forget for the rest of their lives and according to them attending the Taize was one good way to bring them closer to God.
Though some experienced language barrier during the activities but it never hinder them from participating and devoting themselves to the activities and programs being conducted at the Taize.
The five-day pilgrimage of trust has become a way for the participants to be able to have more time in praying and loving just like what Jesus did and renewing one’s self as faithful followers of God. (Verlene Aizon, Youth for Christ Global North A)
