Liturgy confab held to deepen Lenten celebration

MANILA, March 8, 2010—The Archdiocesan Liturgical Commission of the Archdiocese of Manila conducted a liturgy conference which aims to deepen the commemoration of Lent

 

The conference was held today at the Bahay Pari, San Carlos Pastoral Formation Complex in Makati City which was also intended to help the clergy in their preparation for the Holy Week and the Easter Triduum.

 

Fr. Genaro Diwa, Director of the Archdiocesan Liturgical Commission, said conference focused on the history, theology and pastoral considerations of the Liturgy of the Holy Week and Easter Triduum.

 

Among those who participated were the parish priests, shrine rectors and religious clergies of the Archdiocese of Manila

.

Fr. Anscar J. Chupungco, OSB, Director of the Paul VI Institute of Liturgy, was the resource speaker of the conference.

 

“Let us take advantage of this opportunity to update ourselves and deepen our knowledge in the liturgy so that the great mystery of our Redemption will be celebrated in the best possible way and that our people may participate in it with greater spiritual advantage,” said Diwa. (Kate Laceda)
